Evaluations / Tryouts
November 8 (9AM-11AM) – Day 1 Tryout
November 9 (2PM-4PM) – Day 2 Tryout
Player evaluations for girls ages 10-15 to determine team placement and club invitations.
Evaluations & Team Placement
Player evaluations/tryouts are for girls ages 10-15. Evaluations will determine team placement and club invitations. Players are required to attend only one of the two scheduled dates, though they are welcome to attend both if they wish.
We recommend that families arrive at least 45 minutes before the tryout start time to allow sufficient time for check-in. Arriving an hour early is preferred, if possible.
Following evaluations:
- Players may be invited to join a Regional Competition Team based on skill, attitude, and positional needs.
- Players not initially placed on a team will be invited to participate in our Rise Academy, which focuses on continued skill development and may lead to a team opportunity later in the season.
Required Documents for Tryouts: To participate in tryouts, each player must bring the required items and submit all necessary documents at check-in before evaluations begin. Required items/documents include:
- Proof of CHRVA membership (Annual or Tryout)
- A copy of their birth certificate (required by CHRVA for verification)
- The completed USAV Medical Release Form
Note: There is no fee to participate in TruForm Athletics’ evaluations.
Evaluation Registration Fee
To participate in evaluations, a $40 non-refundable registration fee is required. This fee helps
cover the cost of gym rental, insurance, and staffing for the evaluation process.
Payment must be completed prior to check-in on evaluation day.
Please note that the CHRVA Tryout or Annual Membership is also required and separate from this
club fee.
CHRVA Membership
All players must obtain a current CHRVA membership and provide proof of eligibility in order to
participate in our evaluations on November 8.
CHRVA offers two membership options:
Annual Membership
CHRVA-
Covers the full 2025–2026 season and is valid for all club activities.
Tryout Membership
CHRVA-
A short-term option valid for 10 days from the date of purchase.
Important: Do not purchase the Tryout Membership more than 10 days before evaluations. If you
decide to join a TruAthletics team, you’ll need to upgrade to the full annual membership.
Medical Release Form
All players must submit a signed CHRVA Medical Release Form before participating in any clinics
or evaluations.
Club Structure
Regional Competition Teams
Regional Competition Teams compete within the D.C., Virginia, and Maryland area as part of CHRVA local tournaments. The official game season runs from mid-November through the end of April or early May. Currently, we’re registered for six CHRVA-sanctioned regional tournaments in the DC Metro area. For our first season, we’re focusing on local competition and team cohesion before expanding into multi-day or travel events such as Capitol Classic or Irish Rumble.
All Regional Teams practice twice per week, with each session including 30–45 minutes of strength training in the weight room, in addition to skill and strategy work on the court.
We plan to field Regional Teams in the following age divisions: U11, U12, U13, U14, and U15. If a particular age group does not have enough players to form a full team, we will make every effort to place qualified athletes in a nearby age division. All placements will be made in accordance with USA Volleyball and CHRVA age and eligibility guidelines to ensure full compliance. When a Regional Team spot isn’t available, players will be invited to join our Rise Academy, where they can continue refining and developing their skills in a supportive, year-round environment.

Rise Academy
The Rise Academy provides year-round training and development opportunities for girls ages 8-15 who are either newer to volleyball, not ready to commit to a travel team, or want to continue improving their volleyball skills outside of formal team competition. The program emphasizes fundamentals, skill-building, confidence, and court awareness through structured practices and small-group instruction. The program also provides an opportunity for travel-team players to continue their development once the CHRVA season ends.
While the Rise Academy is non-competitive in nature, all participants are registered members of CHRVA/USA Volleyball to ensure full compliance and safety coverage. Athletes will have opportunities to play against TruForm’s travel teams and, when possible, participate in local scrimmages designed to provide valuable game experience in a fun, supportive, and low-pressure environment.
Open to all players, regardless of club affiliation, TruForm’s Rise Academy is ideal for athletes seeking continuous skill development and growth year-round. It’s the perfect stepping stone for players preparing for future competitive opportunities.

Club Value & Pricing
- At TruForm Athletics, we believe in providing exceptional training and development at a fair, transparent cost.
- Many local volleyball clubs charge between $3,500 and $4,000 for a 5–6 month season, which often works out to over $500 per month and does not include off-season access.
- TruForm Athletics is truly different. Our club memberships include year-round access to in-season practices, off-season training, clinics, and open gyms—giving them more opportunities to develop their skills, stay active, and grow as athletes—all for a fraction of the cost of most traditional club programs.
- We’re committed to making quality volleyball development more affordable while still offering excellent coaching, facilities, and year-round opportunities for growth.

Practice Attendance & Commitment
At TruAthletics, we believe that building a cohesive and competitive team requires consistent
attendance and dedication from each player.
- Attendance is expected at all practices and tournaments. Repeated absences or tardiness disrupt team chemistry and individual development.
- Playing time is directly impacted by attendance and effort. Players who regularly miss practices may experience limited playing time, which will be handled at the coach’s discretion.
- Players should plan schedules with the season in mind and communicate conflicts in advance whenever possible.
- Consistent participation not only strengthens the team but also helps every athlete reach their full potential.
Injury Policy
Player and family acknowledge that participation in volleyball involves the risk of injury. If a player becomes injured during the season:
- The family must notify the club immediately and provide a doctor’s note describing the injury and expected recovery time.
- If the injury is temporary, the player will remain on the roster and is encouraged to attend practices for team learning and light participation as appropriate.
- If the injury is season-ending (preventing return for the remainder of the season), TruAthletics will review the situation on a case-by-case basis.
- The club may pause or prorate future payments only if approved by the club director and with documentation provided.
- Refunds for payments already made are generally not issued, as team and facility expenses are pre-paid and non-refundable.
